One of the best ways to find a goal and create meaning in our lives encore make a difference in someone else's life. It helps us redirect focus away from ourselves, and can be a wonderful feeling of fulfillment. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity as a part of your career encore, here are 5 really large organizations to explore:

1st ExperienceCorp.org: Experience Corps is an award-winning national program that people over 55 years engaged in fulfilling theirCommunities greatest challenges. Two thousand Experience Corps members tutor and mentor in 23 cities across the country and offers literacy coaching, homework help, consistent and committed role models, caring attention.

Independent studies have shown that the experience enhances Corps student academic performance, helps schools and youth-serving organizations to greater success and increased well-being of older people in the process. It's a win-win-win for all!

2ndSeniorCorps.gov: Senior Corps currently links more than 500,000 American service opportunities with mentors, coaches or companions to people in need, or bring their professional skills and expertise to community projects and organizations.
