2008 Miami Dolphins Outlook

The Miami Dolphins of 1972 was, statistically, the greatest team in the history of professional football. The Dolphins not only won the Super Bowl, but also won 14 games of the regular season and two play-offs for a 17-0 score. Since then, the Dolphins have played much and in fact one of their worst season ever played in 2007 and ended with a 1-15 win loss record. The Miami Dolphins hope its 43rd Season, the most successful season yet to make or at least something closer tothe glorious 1972 season, as were last season.

A 1-15 win-loss record is reason enough to shake up management. H. Wayne Huizenga and Stephen M. Ross, the co-owner of the team have decided to gain some necessary material changes through the appointment of two Super Bowl coach Bill Parcells to the Executive Vice President of the Miami Dolphins football operations. Parcells has already fired GM Randy Mueller and coach Malcolm "Cam" Cameron. Cam Cameron led the Dolphins to13 games in a row, losing in a row, before the team finally beat the Baltimore Ravens for their first and only victory. (Yes, it must suck for the Baltimore Ravens, which explains why she immediately stopped Cam Cameron as offensive coordinator on his release from the Dolphins) There is also a new general manager Jeff Ireland and a new head coach in Tony Sparano. (That's Sparano, not Tony Soprano!) The only coaches that have stayed with the team, special teams assistant coach SteveHoffman and linebackers coach George Edwards

All major changes in players who may be the result of the new season? In February, quarterback Trent Green, wide receiver Marty Booker, offensive tackle LJ Shelton and defensive tackle Keith Traylor were all released from their contracts. The team also deals waived offensive Anthony Alabi, Marion Duke, guard Marquay Love, offensive lineman Joe Toledo, defensive tackle Anthony Bryant and linebacker Zach Thomas. Fora time it seemed as if things were done, until it was announced in April that nine additional players, including Casey Bramlet, Marcello Church, Tuff Harris, Jereme Perry, Kerry Reed, Mark Washington, Chandler Williams, Cameron Worrell was released. Matt Baker and tackle Steve Fifita. However, there were more dolphins, the sea would be purged of May, with the renunciation of Marcel Reece, Derreck Robinson, Abraham Wright and Aaron Lane. Finally, Drew Mormino was waived after failingReserve a physical, not to mention most of the season injured.

There was some interesting news in the autograph sessions and draft, as Miami acquired defensive tackle Jason Ferguson, linebacker Akin Ayodele and tight end Anthony Fasano, all from the Dallas Cowboys. Tyvon Branch was traded by the Oakland Raiders, while the team had many promising new signings such as quarterback Matt Baker, offensive lineman Trey Darilek and linebacker Junior Glymph. Other notable signings includeCornerback Joey Thomas, wide receiver David Kircus, wide receiver Ernest Wilford, QB Josh McCown and guard Justin Smiley.

With several autograph sessions, including the exciting news for the acquisition of offensive tackle Jake Long in the draft, the Dolphins are ready to compete again. The Dolphins entered free agency $ 44 million under the $ 116 million-dollar salary cap, either a sign of a more efficient administration, or a slow rebuilding process, do not expect the well for the year 2008 no good.
